The owner is Joan Moore who started her career driving a school bus then became a Greyhound Bus driver. She did not stop there however, she entered into Law Enforcement with the DoD and later became a sercuity specialist with the Fedral Government. She also started a part-time job doing driver's ed. In 2001 she branched out on her own and started the Moore's Driving Academy. Joan has had countless hours on the road and in the classroom and feels that having safe drivers on the road is the primary purpose of Moore's. Joan also hold degrees from the College of Southern Maryland.

Shawn Moore was a police officer for over 20 years and has conducted many accident investigations. He retired from the State of Maryland, Division of Parole and Probation on July 1, 2009. Shawn has been instructing with, Joan since the Academy opened in 2001. Shawn holds a degree from Towson Univeristy.
