The California Motorcyclist Safety Program Motorcyclist Training Course (CMSP MTC) is designed for the novice rider with no (or limited) street-riding experience. This course includes both classroom and on-cycle instruction. You will learn fundamental skills required to operate the motorcycle and progress to street riding skills and strategies.Topics covered include fear, understanding how motorcycles turn, proper cornering strategies, and emergency crash avoidance skills. The course is based on the most current research in rider safety and utilizes modern training methods.Upon successful completion of the CMSP Motorcyclist Training Course students will receive a DMV DL389 certificate that may waive the riding skills test requirement at the DMV. This is a one day, 8 hour course that is taken on your own street legal motorcycle, and consists of class and ride time. In the IRC you will learn the critical information and skills to make you a better, more knowledgeable and safer rider. This important next step in rider training will focus on better control of your motorcycle, including, maximum braking, swerving, and cornering. These key elements will provide considerable skill improvements and will really boost your confidence out on the road. Our dynamic classroom sections include maximum traction management, choosing the right lines through the turns, as well as the psychological aspects of motorcycling like overcoming fear, keeping your concentration, and having the right attitude. This fun and exciting class will put a smile on your face and give you a whole new perspective on your next ride. Your motorcycle will be subject to the instructor's inspection, which includes tires, chassis, suspension, controls, and final drive assembly. Registration and proof of insurance is required.
