HomeSafe Driving School is a small business in Costa Mesa, California and is owned and operated by husband and wife team Brad and Ali McDermott. Brad McDermott has 20 years of extensive road safety expertise as a CHP certified school bus driver and heavy equipment operator in United States Marine Corps. This coupled with over 25 years of experience developing teen's character and working with families as a youth pastor, baseball coach, and ski instructor equip him with key skills for teaching driver's education. He is an Alumnus of Vanguard University, a certified trainer with Culture ROI and was recently installed as Lead Pastor of a small church in Costa Mesa. After nearly 20 years in the automotive industry Ali McDermott left the corporate world behind to spend more time with their family and officially joined the HomeSafe team splitting her time between operations of both the HomeSafe office and the McDermott home.

HomeSafe Driving School

HomeSafe Driving School’s aim is to create safe drivers. A "safe driver" is a distinct term that addresses both the hard skills of technical driving and the soft skills of character and attitude development, this includes being more present and or aware of the road, and the people around us. We accomplish this through behind the wheel training and values-based, interactive lessons that focus on character and attitude, and how these produce a safe driver. We do the basics exceptionally well, however, we are not content to simply stop there. Our instruction provides opportunities for students to learn beyond the simple do’s and don’ts covered in many driver education programs.
