The idea of DRIVE509 started while I was working for a food delivery company. Like most people I started as a night shift warehouse picker…not my dream job but a foot in the door and a paycheck to feed my family. I slowly progressed and worked my way into a driving position delivering products to the Northwest and eventually into a lead driver position where I helped train new hires and manage drivers and customers. After ten years of employment, it became clear that my passion was not just in driving but was in training others to drive as well.

Training others brought me an undeniable sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. It gave me purpose. It felt good to help people obtain a job that would help them provide for their families. It felt good to know I was helping provide quality CDL drivers for an industry that literally keeps this country running. It became clear that I wanted to focus all my attention on training quality drivers. So, I took a leap of faith and went out on my own to create a company that would provide superior training to those seeking a CDL.
