Our DMV approved online Driver Education course will fulfill the mandatory California DMV driver education requirements. The student can take this course anywhere and any time on his/her schedule. There are 10 units total with a quiz following each unit. When you have completed the 10 units, there will be a final exam which you need to pass with at least 80% accuracy. The Certificate of Completion will be mailed to you immediately. It will be accompanied by a letter explaining the steps you need to follow to get your Minor’s Permit. When registering for Driver Education, please provide the correct student information as it appears on the social security card and birth certificate. It is important you also include your correct mailing address. Complete your course within five months.

The DMV required Driver Training course consists of six (6) hours behind-the-wheel. These hours are divided into three lessons (two hours per day). Our DMV certified instructors will pick-up and drop-off students at home. U-Drive Driving School provides vehicles that meet the qualifications of the DMV. Students are given seven (7) months from the enrollment date to complete the six (6) hour Driver Training course. On the day of the first lesson, the instructor will sign the minor’s permit, validating it so that the parent or guardian may legally begin additional practice. Upon completion of the six (6) hour Driver Training course, the student will receive the Certificate of Completion of Behind-the-Wheel. Keep all certificates in a safe place as the DMV will require them for the DMV driving test. Parents are responsible of providing an additional 50 hours of practice prior to the minor taking the driving test. It is highly recommended that parents read the California Parent-Teen Training Guide before beginning the additional 50 hour practice. The behind-the-wheel instruction includes the following skills steering, right turn, left turn, stop and start, traffic, lane change, reverse straight, start on hill, turn about, right turn traffic, left turn traffic, diagonal parking, parallel parking, and freeway. U-Drive Driving School accommodates to the needs of the student, depending on the level of skills of each adult. Our experienced instructors will recommend the number of hours needed according to the progress of the student. For adult beginners a six (6) hour package is recommended. Some adult beginners may require more than the six hour package. There is a two hour refresher course if all you need is to review good driving practices. These two hours are highly recommended if you are taking the driving test. NEED A CAR FOR YOUR DRIVING TEST? We can assist you! The car service for the driving test includes a vehicle that meets the DMV maintenance requirements for the driving test as well as insurance coverage, and a valid vehicle registration. The instructor provides a brief demonstration and a review of what is expected during the driving test. You are also welcome to watch a 20 minute DMV video on the ten most common errors people do while taking the driving test. Visit the DMV website at to see "Let’s Go for a Drive" video as many times as needed. Contact the office to make an appointment and pay a deposit or the full amount in advance to reserve a vehicle. If a balance is due, you will pay it on the day of the test. Forms of payment include cash, debit or credit. No checks accepted.
