Texas R.I.D.E.R...was the first independent entity to conduct motorcycle operator training in the state of Texas.; has been training Texans, in safe riding skills and techniques, since 1989.; is Motorcycle Safety Foundation - Certified; was established to provide the MSF's Basic and Experienced motorcycle operator training courses.; is approved and contracted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, to make available, reasonably priced and conveniently scheduled courses. Upon successful completion of the Basic Rider Course, the riding portion of the DPS test for licensing, will be waived for adults, 18 yrs. and older.; trains riders of all types, including scooters, sport bikes, cruisers, dual purpose and touring models.; conducts weekly classes designed to teach you the skills necessary for safe and enjoyable riding.; offers the Experienced Rider Course, designed to hone your skills, as well as give two-up riders a chance to practice their riding skills in a controlled environment. Even if you can complete the maneuvers, what about when you have a passenger?; can organize a private, Basic or Experienced Rider Course, for your group, or organization.; can provide one-on-one remedial training outside, but within the structure of a regular Basic Rider Course.; offers private lessons.; for Law Enforcement Personnel - Earn TCLEOSE hours, 16 for BRC and 8 for ERC.; can help you get the "M" endorsement on your license, no more worrying about tickets and the new stiffer penalties.; has Gift Certificates available.

    The basic course is for you if you've never ridden at all or if you haven't had much riding experience. In this 16 hour course with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's 3-4 hr. e-Course, we teach you how to operate a motorcycle, the best protective clothing to wear, how to avoid dangerous situations, and most importantly, how to get out of those dangerous situations you can't avoid. You'll learn to make a motorcycle perform like an extension of yourself, and by the end of the course we will be challenging your skills at the two year riding level. The best part is you don't even need a helmet or a motorcycle, we provide them for you! Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Completion Certificate that you take to your local DPS office where you receive your motorcycle endorsement on your license. Students under the age of 18 Must have completed drivers education or show a drivers learning permit. They must also submit a release form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

    The 5 hour advanced course is for experienced riders only. Even experienced riders may have developed bad riding habits that they aren't aware of. Maybe there was never an opportunity to develop accident avoidance skills, with professional instruction and in a controlled environment. Since advanced students use their own motorcycles, you'll see all types of bikes, from cruisers to sport bikes to touring machines. No matter how long you've been riding, the advanced course is tough enough to challenge your skills. You learn high speed maneuvering, quick swerving and avoidance techniques, countersteering, traction control, emergency braking for curves and slippery surfaces.
