Crossroads Driving School
Description

Online instruction and behind-the-wheel education will focus the student on safe driving standards including regulations, traffic signs, controls, Identify, Predict, Decide, and Execute (IPDE) process, and the basics of car control. Significant attention is given to risk awareness, driver behaviors and the effects of drugs and alcohol when operating a vehicle. Successful completion of Crossroads state-approved driver education prepares students for their role as a safe and mature driver. We encourage family members to support our students. The family, not the school, is in the best position to have a sustained effect on minimizing the risks faced by inexperienced drivers.

The purpose of driver education is to provide students with comprehensive driving and learning of the fundamentals of driving and responsible attitudes and behaviors. As a result of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of on the road experience, students will be able to:

* Demonstrate a working knowledge of the rules and procedures of operating a motor vehicle.

* Identify and analyze the physical and psychological conditions that affect driver performance.

* Apply knowledge, processes, and skills to become safe, competent users of local and highway transportation.

* Display responsible driving behaviors when alone and with peers.
