I had an incredible experience taking the beginner motorcycle course with Jeff through Cruisin’ Safely in Neenah, Wisconsin. From the very start, Jeff created a welcoming, low-pressure environment that put everyone at ease—even when there were a handful of inevitable beginner mistakes. Instead of tension or frustration, the class felt supportive, encouraging, and focused on learning. Jeff’s demeanor was calm, patient, and approachable, which made a huge difference for new riders. It was clear right away that Jeff has a deep level of experience and truly knows how to teach. Instructions were clear, practical, and delivered in a way that made even challenging concepts feel manageable. Jeff had a great way of building confidence without rushing anyone, and that made the whole experience both enjoyable and empowering. By the end of the course, it genuinely felt like we were learning from someone who cared about our safety, progress, and comfort on a motorcycle. Jeff made everyone feel right at home, and that kind of instruction is priceless—especially for beginners. I highly recommend this course to anyone thinking about learning to ride. I had a terrible experience here would NOT recommend to anyone as a beginner. So the first day started out great, the instructor who called himself Jeff was nice and seemed to be genuinely be concerned about his students. I was placed on a Royal Enfield that was too large and ended tipping the bike over twice. The second time I tipped the bike over, he not only threatened to kick me out the class (without offering to put me on a smaller bike). He angrily referred to me as "woman" numerous times when I was trying to go over the functions of the bike only to create the muscle memory he mentioned numerous times throughout the class. Iguess he couldn't be bothered to remember my name. I was the one who suggested I be placed on a smaller bike (no joke) not him. He angrily said I could use the a Honda Grom even though it wouldn't help (not sure if he thought I could hear cuz he only said when he was walking away from me and NOT to my face like a real man) Like it was too much work to put me on a properly fitted bike (I am 5'4, 120-125 lbs excuse me for needing a smaller bike). Once I was put on the Grom it took a second for me to get used to the basic functions of the bike seeing as how not only was it a new bike to me but I AM A BEGINNER, I NEVER CLAIMED TO BE ANYTHING MORE. I stalled the Grom multiple times in the first 15-20 min of the new bike which drained his already depleted battery (not sure why the smallest bike that some people require wouldn't be charged for class in anticipation of this) but never the less he got so angry and said the whole class would have to stay late bc of me (funny thing we ended the first day 15 min early b/c after a while I did start to get the hang of it through NO patience of his own). On one of the brakes we had I told him in order to be successful I would need the GROM bc he said if this battery dies I would basically be shit out of luck. I was a little taken aback and when I questioned that he said "So? what do you want me to do about it? But a new bike". I said "No try charging it before class which upset him and he said I was being disrespectful (yea the guy who refers to females as women, ok right). I stayed quiet the rest of the night just trying get through the class (which ended 15 min early not a half hour late like I mentioned before). By the end of the first day he was back in a good mood , even though I left crying, defeated and feeling like I made a big mistake. Not wanting to give up I came back the next day and he was super helpful. I came early and he saw me and said I could practice on the Grom before everyone came. I was grateful and thanked him and thought the issues I had with him was over. Everything did go well but in the end I did not pass I fell off the bike on the third exercise of the exam b/c I stopped really hard and even though I was upset (I had a lot riding on the class) I did understand. He said I would have to pay $150 to take the two day over and I was annoyed but with myself so I started walking to the benches to sit down when he mentioned I needed to fill out an incident report. I guess he didn't see me nod my head and say ok (I was walking to sit on the benches b/c I had fallen and needed to sit when he stormed me and started literally raising his voice saying I was being disrespectful for not answering him, I did he just apparently didn't see/hear. I wasn't walking to my stuff only to put my gear away but he most certainly did not wait for my explanation. We went back and forth b/c I was standing up for myself and he kept saying over and over again that I was something else and he thought I had ADHD, I was nervous, bikes take practice and when I mentioned it he said he would place me with a different instructor next time. I agreed, I don't ever really have problems with people but it was clear we did not mesh well together. We did go back and forth for a little, I brought up him calling me "woman" out of anger the day prior and the accusation of having a learning disability and saying being placed on a smaller bike wouldn't help , which it did. I mentioned he should treat people better too and be encouraging instead of belittling them. You could just tell he was getting out of control at that point. I wanted to end the conversation at that then (he had my incident report at that time, I wanted to leave) at the end I literally only asked him his name to ensure I wouldn't be placed with him again and he took offense to that for whatever reason and asked why, I was fed up at this point so with attitude (I will admit) I said b/c I want to know, is that ok? and he said I was not welcomed back . I guess the asking of his name and getting the attitude back that he gave to me was too much for him. If you are not a beginner maybe this class is for you but I would recommend not being placed with Jeff if that's his name. He's the small scrawny guy (inside and out) with glasses. Read Less
