⭐ 1 STAR — Extremely disappointing experience with West Metro Driving School
My daughter received a scholarship for Joshua’s Law, and we chose to use that scholarship with West Metro Driving School.
She successfully completed the 30-hour Joshua’s Law classroom portion, which was paid for through the scholarship. She also completed 2 of the 3 required driving lessons. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend the final driving lesson because of a family emergency.
The problem began when we requested the certificate documenting the Joshua’s Law classroom portion that she had already completed.
West Metro is now refusing to release the certificate, telling us that because she did not complete all 6 hours of the driving portion, they cannot release it.
I asked them to provide me with a copy of the agreement we signed and show me where it states that if a student does not complete the driving portion, the certificate for the classroom portion that was already completed and paid for will be withheld...

I asked them to provide me with a copy of the agreement we signed and show me where it states that if a student does not complete the driving portion, the certificate for the classroom portion that was already completed and paid for will be withheld. I initially received a response to one of my emails, so I replied and explained again that my daughter had already completed the 30-hour Joshua’s Law course, that the scholarship had already paid for that portion, and that I was not asking them to waive the driving requirement. I was simply requesting documentation of the portion she had already completed.
After that, I sent three additional emails and received no response.
I eventually went to the office in person because I was trying to resolve this directly before leaving a negative review or taking the matter further.
Unfortunately, the experience at the front desk was extremely unprofessional. I asked to speak with a manager. The employee went into an office, closed the door, and later came back saying she had spoken with the owner, Mr. Mark Momtahan, and that there was nothing they could do.
I was told that we would have to pay a $75 missed-lesson fee plus another $150 to retake the final lesson before the certificate would be released.
I explained that I was willing to pay the missed-appointment fee out of pocket because I was genuinely trying to resolve the situation. I was not asking them to give my daughter anything she had not earned. I simply wanted the certificate for the 30-hour classroom course that she completed and that the scholarship paid for.
The response I received was essentially a shrug and an attitude of indifference.
My daughter has already passed her driver’s license test, but her license is currently pending because the Joshua’s Law certificate is needed.
At this point, I am contacting the scholarship organization and looking into the matter further because I do not believe a customer should have to repeatedly beg for documentation of a course component that was completed and paid for.
The biggest issue for me isn’t even the money. It is the lack of communication, transparency, and customer service. I gave this company multiple opportunities to explain their policy and resolve the situation privately. Instead, my emails went unanswered, I couldn’t speak directly with the owner, and I was essentially told there was nothing they could do.
Parents considering West Metro Driving School: please make sure you understand exactly what happens to your classroom certificate if your child cannot complete every driving lesson in the package.
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. My daughter earned her classroom completion, and I should not have to fight this hard simply to obtain documentation of it.
